The Foundation was created in 1988 by a group of library supporters who recognized that the current library building would soon be inadequate. The focus of the Foundation has been to acquire donations and grants for the new Main Library. In the spring of 2000 architect Richard Turi unveiled plans for the new Main Library building. The Foundation encourages potential donors to consider donating furnishings for the new Main Library. Gifts of furnishings are lasting tributes to individuals or groups. Plaques will be placed on gifts of furnishings in memory/celebration of individuals or groups the donor would like to recognize. The tasteful furnishings will be selected by architect, Richard Turi. Those wishing to join the Library Foundation or to donate to this exciting project may contact Sara Charlton at the Tillamook County Library, 210 Ivy, Tillamook, OR 97141 or call (503) 842-4792. Gifts to the Foundation are small and large investments which benefit the entire community and commemorate special people and events.
